A Day in the Life of a Thompson Plumbing Pro

7:00 AM – The Day Begins

My day starts bright and early at the Thompson Plumbing headquarters. After grabbing a cup of coffee, I head to the morning meeting where we review the day’s schedule and any priority calls that came in overnight.

8:30 AM – On the Road

My first stop is a residential air conditioning repair in Petersburg. The homeowner reported that their AC unit wasn’t cooling properly. After inspecting the system, I discover a refrigerant leak and get to work replacing the faulty components.

11:00 AM – HVAC Installation

Next up is a new HVAC installation in Dundee. The homeowners are upgrading to a more energy-efficient system, so I spend the morning carefully removing the old unit and preparing for the new installation.

  1. Disconnect and remove the old HVAC system
  2. Install the new outdoor condenser unit
  3. Run the refrigerant lines and electrical wiring
  4. Mount and connect the indoor air handler

2:30 PM – Lunch Break

After a busy morning, I take a well-deserved lunch break at a local diner in Ida. It’s important to refuel and recharge for the afternoon ahead.

3:30 PM – AC Service Call

The afternoon takes me to Britton for an air conditioner service call. The customers reported that their unit was making strange noises and not cooling as efficiently as usual. I perform a thorough inspection, clean the coils, and replace the air filters – simple maintenance that can go a long way in extending the life of an AC unit.

6:00 PM – Wrapping Up

My last stop of the day is in Ottawa Lake for a routine preventative maintenance visit. I check all the connections, clean the components, and ensure everything is running smoothly. Before heading back to Lambertville, I update the job notes and prepare for another busy day tomorrow.

Working with Thompson Plumbing, Heating & AC is always an adventure, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Helping residents stay comfortable all year round is a rewarding experience.
